"KAT"
October, 1985...March, 2000
My little love, you ball of fur;
You silly girl, the things you were.
When first we met, outside my house,
I thought, well now, she'll catch a mouse.
But days went by, and joy you brought,
into my house, I knew you ought.
You gave me joy, now tears of sadness,
for all those years, you brought me gladness.
You ran and played, and gave me love,
Was this a gift, from God above?
Upon my shoulders, you perched and purred,
You said "I love you", without a word.
You gave your all to me, asked little in return for you,
you loved me dearly, I loved you too.
You tried to escape, and run so free,
but then would always come back to me.
With one exception, that was my Dad,
you were the best friend I ever had.
I loved you so much, still do to this day,
Why, little love, did HE take you away?
In fond memory of "KAT", May 14, 2000
