by Matthew McLaughlin
I saw the waves crashing ashore
I cried of stones ahead and fell to my knees
The ship was going to sink, of this I was sure
I look to the sky and proclaimed please God, please
Don't throw us to the shore
The wind arose and pulled the sails
I dragged myself to the bow to watch the turbulant sea
I turned to see the deck mates repeling water with their pails
Again I looked to the sky as it turned the color of the sea
I cried out, oh thank you Lord for your breath of air
For it has saved the ship so we can continue to sail
The seas became calm and the skies grew clear
