Scrapper
by Alison Mcknight
My dog Scrapper didn't have a third chance like all of the other dogs and cats that mess up do. He never got the chance to love with all his heart without the Separation Anxiety telling him to tear something up. So, this problem went on for years, that we refused to correct. I told my mother to give him a bone before she leaves for the night or to kennel him with food and water but she didn't listen. She went through with the euthanasia anyways after I gave her advice on how to help him. That is why I am here today, greiving over the one I loved for 5-6 years. The day we adopted him was a dy of joy but the day he left was a day of sorrow Here is the story of the day he came to be. We were looking for a family dog so we went to the Dumb Friends League Extended Care Shelter. My brother had chosen his two favorites, Scrapper and one other dog. We chose Scrapper because he was a needy dog in need of a new home. When we came home with him and had his Wellness Exam done, he was diagnosed with Kennel Cough. Over the course of a week, his cough diminished. That was when we got him. As the years passed by, he learned bad habits and 2 weeks and 1 day ago, he got the ultimate punishment, euthanasia. I want him to come back but what's gone is gone and I have to face it, he ain't coming back. Thaks for listening and have a great day, Alison Mcknight
