I am writing this memory for our family cat named Kitty. I found out about this site when my dog Morgan died. I thought it would only be fitting that I write a memory for Kitty, the cat we had growing up. Kitty was put to sleep on March 17, 2000 (St. Patricks day this year.)
Kitty came to us in the winter of 1989. It was about 60 below outside with windchill factor, in the middle of January. She fit into our family right away. In the first week we had her I could tell there was something wrong with her tail. I think someone had slammed it in a door because in a couple of days, the last two inches just fell off. And the weather was so cold that part of her ear had froze off. You could tell she had been through a lot. She was deathly afraid of men. But after some time she grew to love and trust everyone. She had 3 litters of kittens in the 11 years that we had her. We kept one from the first litter, his name is Domino. We also kept one from the 2nd litter and his name is Smokey. She was a short hair mixed colored cat. Some people thought she looked homely, but we thought she was beautiful. She was no trouble and she was so sweet. Another thing that she lost in the cold weather was her voice. She could barely meow. Sometimes you could hear her just faintly, but you could still hear her purr. I just wanted to write a memory about her because she brought so much happiness into our house. We learned so much from her. All of us kids will remember her for a long time. My family still has Domino and Smokey. Im sure they miss her too. Bye-Bye Kitty. You and Morgan take care of each other until I can see you again.
Love you.
