my baby polly
by Miranda Parmley
Polly was my first brindle pit bull. She was a red red brindle with beautiful hazel eyes. We fecieved her from a friend and she was only 4 months old. My husband and I let her stay in the house because she was so docile and would't jump on my little girl like my other pits. They say pits are hyper and you had better believe it! Not Polly though ver gentle and loving we had to move her up the road to my brother in law's house. You see we had five of our puppies stolen and they had also broken in my house to get the last puppy. I feel privleged hussein, polly's litter mate brother was in the house but he remained unharmed of stolen. She was a hot pup around anyone who saw her but in my worst time I would't sell her for anything. About three months ago I went to pick my daughter from my brother in laws house and busted out in tears. Polly in her kennel sitting there covered in these horrible red blood blisters everywhere! We all thought an allergy to the ant killer or even the flea and tick spray. Bathed her crying the whole time as blood from every pocket poured over my hands. My husband and I diped her for sarcopting mange. Not sarcoptic mange. Red mange a horribly disfiguring desiese. I had recently changed vets because my other had not only gotten so pricy he started showing the tell tell signs of the pit hater! I thought my new vet would save her like he did another female I had, but as soon as I walked in the door automatically you need to put her down. Why?!! I stayed there while she took her last breath and could hardly bring her home to lay where she belonged at home. I just currently bought a computer and did not know that much about red mange but I found out three simple medications that I have sitting in my own cabanets and a spaying could have saved her. My baby shouldn't be dead. MY descition MY signature on that paper and I know know my vet I chose has something against breeders of these animals. I want everyone to know if you own, breed, or evenlove this breed of dog, you are not only supceptable with ordanary people being angry with you but your vet could be too!1!!! I currently have made Polly my choice to never be blind to what could happen to mine or others animals. Please learn from me but forgive those who do us wrong.
