Justice for Max
by Donna Ploss
On September 29, 2000, in Sacrament, California, a man toting a golf club was walking his two german shepards on private property. One of the dogs attacked a beautiful tuxedo kitty named Max, who was in his own yard minding his own business. Upon defending himself, Max scratched one of the dogs which infuriated the owner. The owner proceeded to beat Max with the golf club and, as Max tried to get away, the villain beat him in the head with a rock. Max died instantly. The suspect was identified by witnesses and he was arrested on February 13, 2001. The man was arraigned in court today (March 14) and a jury trial is scheduled for April 20th. My heart and prayers go out to Max and his humans. I know that Max is in a better place and only hope that justice will prevail. May the piece of garbage that did this to such a beautiful, innocent animal have a date with the devil.
