My Precious IzzyBelle

MY PRECIOUS IZZYBELLEL: This is a story dedicated to my baby IzzyBelle. It all started seven years ago. It was the middle of October and we called about a teacup chihuahua that was for sale. We traveled almost two hours that evening to get to her. We went into the breeders home and seen her....love at first sight!! I am now a believer in that most definetely. She was so tiny and fragile. She just snugged us and kissed us. We instantly told the breeder....She is ours! So we took her home.:-) This was the happiest day of my life. She was wrapped snugg in a baby receiving blanket. She just shivered and shook. Since it was almost NOvember it was quite cold outside and for her it was like Alaska or worse! Well we finally made it home. She walked around and checked everything out wagging her baby tail. Well everything was wonderful until a few days later. She started having seizures on us. We rushed her to the vet and they immediately knew the problem. She was hypoglycemic which means very low blood sugar. Many small dogs are prone to this. At that time she only weighed a whopping 1/4 of a pound!! Well from then on for the first six months of her life (besides the six weeks with the breeder) we had to make a trip to the vet every week seriously. When she reached closer to a year old she grew out of that! Thank Goodness. :-) Okay she is now a year old!! Her first birthday!! We bought a baby stroller for her. SHe loved to be strolled around. We bought her baby bottles and pacifers. She loved to drink puppy milk and suck on passies. We have a picture of when she first sucked on the passy!! It is so precious. Now you know we couldn't NOT buy her baby clothes. We went in the preemie section and bought her some of the cutest clothes. She was and still is my baby. Now she is about a 1 1/2 old and we bred her. She gets pregnant!! Well she does fine until labor night. Everything was crazy that night. She was in labor for a solid 36hrs. She kept whining and straining for hours so we called our vet. They said to bring her ASAP so they could perform a emergency c-section. So here we go down the interstate going about 90mph. THen we turn on the overhead light and we see a puppy!!! We helped her pull it out and she Finally delivered the first puppy. So we turned around and went back home. We called the vet and He said I think she will be okay since the first one was out. SHe did do just fine. She had two more puppies. A total of three. That first puppy was fawn and big! She was the largest. Then came the second which was a chocolate. She was small. Then last but not least a white male. He was the runt. He was so itty bitty. Well she nursed for a total of two days. Then she got mastitis. I think that is the way you spell it. SHe lost one of her teats due to this. So we had to bottle feed. SHHHHHHHH.........what a JOB! I enjoyed every minute of it though. Well Izzy did not!! She hated her pups. She was so jeolous of them. :-( We knew we made a bad decision.:-( SO we of course had her spayed. Every since the spaying she has been a little plump but still my precious baby. Well now the pups have been sold to great homes and Izzy is back to normal. She is happy again!! :-) Well a few months went by and my grandfather died. I was very close to him and Izzy was there to comfort me. She helped me through alot at that time. I will never be able to fully repay my baby.:-) She has made my life so happy and wonderful!! :-) Oh how I love her. Well a few more years went by and we moved. She adjusted very well and I think she was sort of excited by it. Her health is doing great still. This is around 5-6yrs of age. Izzy is still enjoyed the stoller rides. She is starting to get tired of the baby clothes so we stopped that when she got pregnant. Well....lets see. Now she is 7yrs and 6mths old. She is doing great healthwise with the exception of some hip arthritis. This does not cause her any discomfort thank goodness. We did have a problem with her eye about a year ago. Her eye was swelling and she was acting sick. She had a eye infection and it was healed with antibiotics. Otherwise no health problems. She still loves to be strolled and loves to sleep with Moma(me). She has always slept on my side in bed. I love her so much!! We have added a new chihuahua to the family. She is a chocolate tcup too just like IzzyBelle. She will be 7mths old soon. IzzyBelle is not jeolous at all. Izzy treats her like her baby. There so cute together in the stroller. During the daytime we have this little bassinet for Izzy. She loves it!! :-) I really think we were meant for each other. I will always love her FOREVER and EVER. SHe is my sunshine. I am sorry but I can not stop saying how much I love her. Izzy....I love you and your my baby IzzyGirl. :-) Well This my story about my Baby....IzzyBelle Dix. With All my Love, Izzy's Pet Jami
