My Visit to Rainbow Bridge
by Jayne Rahe
Approximately mid-December, 2000, I had a very life-changing experience in the form of a near death experience. In my dream, I began a journey up a mountain side. The path was bathed in a golden light and I began to "float" up the mountain. The feeling of peace and joy I was experiencing is hard to describe. I had no cares, no worries, just a tremendous desire to get to the top of the mountain. There was a very bright silver light at the top of the mountain and a staircase leading up into the light. At the foot of the stairs was a green, grassy meadow and in that meadow was every animal I had ever had and lost. I only "saw" three of them but I could "feel" the others there and I knew they were there and that they were alright. Our collie, Fanny, ran to me and pressed against my legs just as she had done over 20 years ago. My poodle, Skipper, who had been blind at his death was there and could see. Tigger, my three-legged cat was there with all four of his legs and purring and rubbing against my legs. What awakened me was the VERY cold nose of my yorkie, Abby. When I awoke, my blood pressure was very low and my heart rate was very slow. I truly believe that had I not been awaken, I would have died. And I do believe that I "saw" what was waiting for me. This has confirmed for me that God has a wonderful place for our beloved animal companions. It was truly a wonderful experience.
