When I first saw him he was sticking his paws outof the cage at the dog pound and right into my heart.I paid the 8.00 and took him home in my backpack. He never walked anywhere, he jumped just like a crickett. We had friends that would come to visit just to see Cricket. He was a master at the sneak attack. When our children were born he gave them the once over and took them into his family. He slept wrapped around my head at night, for 20 years he was there. When I became a diabetic, he would wake me in the middle of the night if my bloodsugar became too low so that I could get up and he. He saved my life more than once. When my bed was smoldering from a hot lamp that had fallen over he yowled and cried until I woke up and was able to get the fire under control. It was at the point of flash when he woke me. If not for him I would have lost my life and maybe my husband and children as well. There are no words to discribe how much I miss my old boy.How much love and happiness he gave to each of us.We buried him next to his friend Nakia under the Lilac bushes where they used to lay on hot summeer days until we can see them again and feel the rumble of their purrs and the softness of their fur I hope to visit them here.
