SHEBA DOG
1981 - 2002
Sheba Dog passed away a couple of weeks ago, on October 28th, 2002, after a long struggle with arthritis.
For her last week she was unable to stand on her own and even struggled when assisted. She has had hearing loss and diminished vision for some time.
We got Sheba in Sept. 1983 from the Hopkinton Humane Society after she and her litter of 8 or 9 pups had been abandoned in the woods. When found, she had very little fur due to the fact she had weaned her pups with no nourishment and had a lack of protein. I wish we had taken pictures then so we would have had before and after pic's. The fact that she had the pups made us think she was 1.5 to 2 years old when found.
As you all know Sheba has been more than a pet to us.
She was always with us and most of our lives were scheduled around her. Lisa and I have many fond memories of her and feel as though a piece of us is missing now that she is gone.
Taking her to the vet's for the last time seemed like the hardest thing we have ever done.
She will be missed by many, I'm sure.
