Puppy came to live with us in July, 1984. He was born on April 25, 1984. Puppy was a mischievious dog basically his whole life. He stayed a puppy, just like his name.
One story I would like to share with you all is how strong my dog was. In April, 1996, Puppy became paralyzed. Being a dachshund, he had a long back. One morning calling him to go outside, he did not get up out of his bed, so I picked him up, and brought him outside. Only then did I realize that he could not walk, or pee pee. Off to the vet we went, and she broke the sad news to us, that we had problems, and the dog was paralyzed. Did we want to do surgery, or see what happens. Surgery was out of the question because at this point he was 12 years old, and there was not guarantee that it would help him. So, the dog stayed in the hospital for two days, and we brought him home, partially crippled, and on steroids. By the end of that summer, Puppy's tail started to move, and by that September he was walking again. And he walked until the day he died. I had to put my Pup to sleep on December 12, 2000. Puppy's kidney's shut down, and he became very sick. He was a very strong dog, and we will miss him very much. He will always be in our hearts.
