Our little Moomin
by Helen an Simon Talbot
Rocky belonged to my husband Simon for the first 3 years of his life. We first meet each other on an outing with my husband where we took Rocky to a large park. I remember the day well as I sat down in the car a large head greated me from the back seat and planted a large sloppy kiss on my ear, from that moment on we became friends. As the years passed Simon and I got our own home Rocky settled in well. We would spend time together on walks out which he loved he would run round bounding everywhere,he esecially loved long grass and would dive into it rolling around smiling. Everyone knew Rocky was spoilt we would by him a new toy nearly every week sometimes more, he had loads his faviourte's always the sqeaky balls. Rocky was a strong little man he had his fair share of problems from the moment he was born, but he always fought back. However the last year of his life you could see him changing due to his old age, he could not play for as long and slept alot more. He had a proatate tumour, that couldn't be treated, and an enlarged heart but it never stopped him eating or doing what ever took his fancy. He was a great friend and comfort who was always there for you when you needed a cuddle or someone to talk to, he gave us both great pleasure, joy, happiness and strength and was loved by everyone who knew him.He never complained unless,he had most of the bed and you tried to move him.He got up to many mischevous things that make us smile. 11 years they say is a good age for a Boxer dog we wish it could of been longer but we are thankful we had the chance to be togther for this time. We want to thank Rocky for being our best friend and tell him we will always love him and he will always be in our hearts. He was our special little moomin man who is missed greatly, we know he is safe and happy running around with his family and this helps us to carry on, knowing we will meet again one day. Until we see you again our special little moomin man be happy. Big hugs and kisses love you lots and lots Mummy and Daddy. In memory of our beloved brindle boxer dog Rocky Talbot [Moomin]who fell into a long and peacful sleep at 04:30 7th October 2002 whilst being held by the two people who loved him more than anything in the world. SADLY MISSED BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN.
