Nancy moved to a small town in northern California. She visited the local aniamial shelter and found a large mix dog, Kahu, to share her life with. Being a responsible pet parent, Nancy made an appointment with the local vet. On the morning of the appointment, Kahu went out into the fenced yard and Nancy came out a short time to take Kahu to the vets. Her beautiful dog was gone; she drove around the area to no avail. Returning home, she phoned the vet to let them know that the appointment needed to be canceled only to learn that Kahu had brought himself in! She needed to come to sign the paperwork though!
