Although I had you long ago,
Although you may not have seen,
What a joy you were to have,
And how much you meant to me,
Although you're not here anymore,
Although I never will again,
Hear you barking at the door.
You're still my little princess,
You're still my baby pooch,
You'll always be my honey,
But don't get sore with me,
Because you can't be my only.
Not because I want to replace you,
Not because I didn't love you,
Those things aren't true at all,
Nobody could ever replace you,
And I always and will forever love you.
But understand you see,
When you left me,
You left a hole in my heart that needs to be filled,
It will never be filled all the way,
Because that is your place in my heart,
But it has to be filled some,
To stop my pain and mourning,
So understand my darling,
I'm not trying to replace you,
But to help my heart.
