My Best Friend
by John York
I sit on a hill and stare at the moon, and in a silvery beam of light you come to be with me once again. I can feel your body, smell your scent, look in your eyes, I can once again stroke you, play with you once again. I am happy once again. The look in your face and the strength and fullness of your body also tells me you are well and happy and safe. Then I wake and realize you are gone and I cry, for I love you and miss youso much. I then realize that you have not really gone, instead you are living in my heart. I then fall back into a peaceful sleep. I love you Salem my little fur baby son, now and forever
