A PRAYER FOR CREATURES & ALL CREATION O God, you are the Giver of all life, the One who has called creatures and all creation into being according to Your love, reflecting your own image and likeness. You have formed creatures and all creation: microscopic and gigantic, visible and invisible, known and unknown. In Your loving nature You provide for creatures and all creation. We pray for creatures and all creation to be kept healthy and filled with the joy of life - a life so common to humanity, a life so susceptible to pain and sadness, to illness and disease, to trauma and death as we humans know all too well. In creatures and all creation we see ourselves, both at our greatest and at our most weak. They, like we, take comfort in the warmth of the sun, the coolness of the winds, the refreshment given by water, the sweet fragrance of the flowers and each sensual delight, the needful calm of rest, and the ecstasy of play. And, like us, these creatures and all creation hope for every one of life's many pleasures, free from physical agony, mental duress, and even spiritual injury. You will not forget Your creatures and all creation on the great day of the Holy Resurrection to life eternal when suffering and sorrow disappear, when Your creatures and all creation will shine with the radiance endowed by their Creator. Creatures and all creation cry out and thank their God, the One whose Holy Spirit abides in all and for all. Creatures and all creation acknowledge that life is far greater than death, that being greatly exceeds nonbeing, that love and happiness reside in the common experience of the universe as a sacred community in a cosmic liturgy of interdependence where creatures and all creation co-exist in a secured life of equality and equity worthy of the dignity and reverence that reflects in full measure the wonder and majesty of our one common Creator, to whom all glory, honor, and worship is due forever.
