He was with me since the day I was born until I was 13, until my brother was 10, and my sister until she was 8. He was the sweetest thing to other people. He would never think of biting anyone. But no dog could get near him or us, there was no way in hell he would let another dog hurt us. They could be on a chain walking down the street, but he didn't care.
My mom got him at the Humane Society when he was 11 weeks old. He was a little furball. She said he used to run around the beds and things. There was a time in his life when if you didn't make a bed he would tear the sheets and pillows up.
Now that it will be two years since the day we had to make the heartbreaking decision to help him to the bridge, there are a few things that I want to say to him there listed below. There is not a day that goes by that he is not mentioned or thought of. There's times when with not thinking we will try to call him in and he won't come and it will all the sudden hit us like a tone of bricks that he's not here he's dead.
1) There's not a day that goes by that you are not mentioned or thought of!
2) We miss you so much and we thank you for your companionship and for being the greatest dog we could ever have!
3) Even though we know it was the best thing for you it was the hardest thing that we had to do!
4) Your memory will live on in us and your brothers!
5) Scamper and Klondike miss you and think of you often and they hope its you that meets them at the bridge!
6) And last but not least wait for us buddy and we'll will meet you there!
And with tears in my eyes I'll say good-bye one more time, tomorrow this will not be a day I forget in a long time. But I think we have moved on and are ready to say good-bye without the tears. We have got a new puppy in the family. Even though you don't know him, Crum I'm sure you can hear him! I'm sure he hears stories about the late great crummy. Well, this is when I say good-bye and I love you much my dear baby boy crummy!
