Jubilation
by Liz rodda
Dear Jubilee, So i went down to east L.A. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. I didn't want a chihuahua. yappy dog. old lady dog. they tried to make me take your sister. the little one. you were puffy and loud. you thought you were a pitbull. i loved you. little red nose. self- coloured. i named you jubilation lee. jubilee. but you were called other names. nooshie, hoozaboola, j.b., m'girl. to name a few. you left me last week, all 3.5 pounds of you. you took your spirit and your light. i'm so sorry, i shouldn't have left you alone in there. but you've gotten in fights before and won. i never thought she'd hurt you. you took on a 60lb shepherd and you lost. i miss you every day. i just want to eat french fries and drink mango shakes like we used to. i love you so much. i will never forget you.
