Goodbye to you, my trusted friend
You stood by me until the end.
You gave me shelter, food and love,
Now I watch you from above.
I am now free to run and play,
But for you, it was a sad day.
I've seen old friend's, and made some new,
And have saved a place just for you.
Remember me as I was down there,
Running around without a care.
I warmed your heart, I can warm it still,
In a special way no other can fill.
Do not be sad because I am gone,
We'll be together again-it won't be long.
But think of me once in a while,
And when you do, I know you'll smile.
We are all here, waiting for you,
In this special place that is true.
We'll be together again, one fine day,
And you can watch me romp and play.
