Memories of Oliver
|
Today is a sad day for us. Our 13 year old dog, Oliver, died at 12:30pm. Oliver's was a Brittany Spaniel and he loved his life. He was my shadow and the most wonderful dog I could have asked for. He acted like a puppy until he was about 9, full of energy, always the comedian and ever loyal and happy. For the last 3 years, hip dysplasia began. When we discussed treatment for him our vet offered everything from stem cell to hip replacement. Oliver's tests showed that he would not benefit from any of those options since he had severe arthritis throughout his entire body. Walks and medication were recommended and he bravely trudged on until his back legs no longer supported him and he was in more pain than not. We had to make one of 'the' hardest decisions there is to make -- saying goodbye to our best friend. Our vet came to our home and Oliver went to sleep. He is no longer in pain; he is now running around in heaven (All Dogs Go to Heaven! ) chasing rabbits, licking faces and playing with all the other dogs. We will miss him, always love him and will never forget our baby boy, Oliver! LOVE YOU, OLIVER MOM-Marypat, DAD-Jack & SISTER-Chloe(AUSSIE) |
