Jim..Baby is a beautiful girl, and even though she insisted on being an outside furry she knew she was loved and very lucky to have you..a beautiful tribute for a great friend.It is never easy to lose a furry young or old and I have lost both.For whatever reason they are always taken from us too soon while leaving their forever pawprints within us.She is now healthy and playing with Oreo,Ralph and Eva while waiting for us to join them on the Bridge, they are gone from our site but never forgotten. Jim, As a former cat/pigeon-parent who has spent years rescuing these beautiful, amazing fur/feather-children - whom God has placed in our care: I understand and appreciate all you did to look after Baby - for nearly a decade: allowing him to live free yet cared for. Thank you for all you did for him - and for making sure he did not die alone and unloved but was looked after in his last hours. I have found feral pigeons will only allow me to catch them if they `want` my help - and I spent a total of 30 years with my wonderful birds who became precious pets. Now my birds` spirits fly with me daily - inspiring my life and helping me to write for RB. I know your heart and home are open to other fur-children and Baby is near you still. How happy he must have been to have such a friend who allowed him his freedom and the possibility of your home. The main thing is he had your heart - and the love-bonds created in this life continue on forever - across the Bridge - when God calls you Home.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Baby. Please find comfort in knowing that Baby is now at Rainbows Bridge and making lots of friends. Saying goodbye is never easy. I also lost my precious cat Spooky July 30th 2001 after 16 wonderful years with her. On January 11, 2013, I lost my faithful friend Hannah who was a beautiful blue tick hound dog. On August 2, 2013 another one of my beautiful cats, Sammi, a black and white tabby, went to Rainbows Bridge. April 9, 2014, Maci, my English Bulldog passed over to Rainbows Bridge. Maci and Hannah were best friends. I am sure that Baby and my babies have all become good friends. Jim, my condolences on Baby's passing. Your story touched my heart, I also feed a little neighborhood feral and he'll disappear for awhile, too. He comes by and I see the battle scars on his ears and head. I have the same fears for him. He's about the same age as my kitty Scooter, about a 1-1/2 years old but weighs a lot less than him. Sending thoughts of peace and comfort to you.
