Kristen,
I’m sorry for your loss. I know how you feel because this is exactly what I feel right now. I lost my River, a female Beagle, only last March 21, 2017.
We grieve because we miss the companionship, or because we might have some misgivings like we somehow failed our pet in some way. But we did not fail them; we gave them all our love and care. In return they showed their love to us by their playfulness, cuddles, and tongue licks.
Be comforted with the fact that where they are now, they’re safe and sound; everything is provided for, no more pain and suffering, and all they do is run and play.
One day, we’ll rejoin them and this time there’ll be no more parting. Until that day, we come to this memorial site to cherish the memory of our furry friends, and give comfort or share our thoughts with the other parents whose friends and babies have gone to Rainbow Bridge.
In time our pain will diminish, but our love for our furry babies won’t.
