Hi Carmen, this is Lynne from SA. I have just visited Kueki's memorial and am so glad that someone also loves birds (and chickens) as much as me. I have had two Cockatiels put to sleep over the past 4 years and they have both been cremated and are now in their 'memory box' together. It doesnt matter what the animal is that you have a spiritual bond with. IN my case it was my daughter, best friend and soul mate Topsy, the Tibetan Spaniel who stole my heart. She was put to sleep on 5th January 2022 but I only found this site, in December 2022. I have decided to visit the memorials of all Australians, who have loved their furr/feathered children enough to create these amazing memorials. My thoughts are with you, Lynne

So sorry for your loss. You will be together again one day with your dear Kueki, and for now she is safe in Jesus's care while she waits for you. I lost my dear little quail yesterday, and so there's a bird shaped hole in my heart right now. One of the things that comforts me is that lovely verse in the Bible where Jesus says that God longed to look after his people "like a mother hen gathers her chicks under her wings". Sometimes, with the way Christians can be so callous about animals, I've wondered whether God really loves them, but this verse lets me know for sure that he does - so much that he compares their sweet loving nature to his own motherly love for us. Your Kueki is safe under his wings now, and you are too.

Carmen..Kueki is a Beautiful girl..a beautiful tribute for a great friend.It is never easy to lose a furry young or old and I have lost both.For whatever reason they are always taken from us too soon while leaving their forever pawprints within us. I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Kueki. Please find comfort in knowing that Kueki is now at Rainbows Bridge and making lots of friends. Saying goodbye is never easy. I also lost my precious cat Spooky July 30th 2001 after 16 wonderful years with her. On January 11, 2013, I lost my faithful friend Hannah who was a beautiful blue tick hound dog. On August 2, 2013 another one of my beautiful cats, Sammi, a black and white tabby, went to Rainbows Bridge. April 9, 2014, Maci, my English Bulldog passed over to Rainbows Bridge. Maci and Hannah were best friends. I am sure that Kueki and my babies have all become good friends.
