Ritz and Carrie, I am so very sorry for your loss of Lacey. You are right, we love all of our fur babies and mourn each one when they pass, but there are certain babies that touch us in unexplainable ways. I think we have a "soul connection" with some creatures (weather human or animal) and it is obvious you had such a connection with your sweet, gentle Lacey. I lost my sweet, special dog, Chili, this last April and had that special connection with her. Such a bond is a true blessing from God, but the loss is so profound. I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Lacey. Please find comfort in knowing that Lacey is now at Rainbows Bridge and making lots of friends. Saying goodbye is never easy. I also lost my precious cat Spooky July 30th 2001 after 16 wonderful years with her. Just recently on January 11, 2013, I lost my faithful friend Hannah who was a beautiful blue tick hound dog. I'm so sorry for your loss. My dog died 5 days ago and i can't stop crying. He was my best friend. Your story was the first one i visited at the rainbow bridge. A friend just told me about it. I had Louie for 13 yrs. I think its always hard. At least you have other babies! I don't think i'll ever have another one. I couldn't go thru this again.

Ritz and Carrie..I read,thru tears and smiles, your tribute to your best friend. I am so very sorry for your loss. She reminds me of the large black dog I lost almost two years ago.. and even though she told me she didn't want to be my heart dog...her loss was the hardest.
