Hi Don, this is Lynne from Kangaroo Island, SA. I have just visited Lara's memorial and read your words from beginning to end and it made me cry. But, thank you. I had to have my daughter, best friend and soul mate "Topsy" put to sleep on 4th January 2022 but only found this website in December 2022. I have decided to visit the memorials of all Australian furr/feathered family members who's parents loved them so terribly much that they created these beautiful memorials. I believe the relationship you had (and have)with Lara was probably similar to what I had (and have) with Topsy. My thoughts are with you, Lynne

I'm sorry for the loss of your beloved Lara, I lost my Ginger to lymphoma she was 6, I miss her everyday. We must take comfort knowing both Lara and Ginger are happy, healthy and cancer free, running and playing enjoying the sunshine while waiting for the day when we will all be together again. Don...a beautiful tribute to a great friend. Lara is a beautiful girl. And she chose her time to go when she was with you. I know it is heartbreaking but she loved you so much she needed to be with you at that time in your own home. It is always hard to lose a furry young or old and I have lost both. But no matter what or for whatever reason they are always taken from us too soon leaving their forever pawprints within us. Be sure to know she is happy, healthy and playing with Oreo, Ralph and Eva while waiting for us to join them at the Bridge. I can send you my babies sites if you wish to visit..take care..

I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Lara. Please find comfort in knowing that Lara is now at Rainbows Bridge and making lots of friends. Saying goodbye is never easy. I also lost my precious cat Spooky July 30th 2001 after 16 wonderful years with her. I have lost several babies since Spooky's passing. Hannah 1/11/13, Sammi 8/2/13,Maci 4/9/14, Gabbi 3/20/17, Zoe 1/3/18, Willow 6/4/18, and Shelby 6/12/18. I am sure that Lara and my babies have all become good friends. Hi Don, your memorial for Lara brought tears to my eyes, taken from you too soon, and what a beautiful dog she sounds like. I've had German Shepherds too I know how intelligent they are. So sad she got the dreaded cancer, you gave her a very good life even taking her to work with you. My Jasper was at work with me too, you form a very strong bond when they are with you always. So very sad but good you were with her at the end. I'm so sorry for your great loss.
