My dearest Lucky, as you know 2024 has been a hard year for me. Despite an aggressive job search, I was unemployed for most of the year. Less than a week following my 65th birthday, I received a job offer with the State. I wish you were here so we could celebrate but know that you are and will always be in my heart. As the anniversary of your passing approaches, my heart is heavy because I miss you. You filled me with joy and happiness. Know that there is a spot in my soul that is reserved for you. I can't wait until we meet at Rainbow's Bridge. Love, Mom.

Lucky, Perhaps its because of the approaching holidays but this time is especially difficult without you. Today, I shared a very informal Thanksgiving dinner with Bill, who I'm sure you remember, and two of his long time friends. Both had heard about you and although they never met you asked about you. The photo I took of you in the car is the screen saver on my Blackberry. I miss you so much and hope you're enjoying flying free in Rainbows Bridge. I can't wait to see you again. Love, Mom
