Steve... a beautiful tribute to a great friend. Max is a beautiful boy. It is always hard to lose a furry young or old and I have lost both. But no matter what or for whatever reason they are always taken from us too soon leaving their forever pawprints within us. I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Max. Please find comfort in knowing that Max is now at Rainbows Bridge and making lots of friends. Saying goodbye is never easy. I also lost my precious cat Spooky July 30th 2001 after 16 wonderful years with her. I have lost several babies since Spooky's passing. Hannah 1/11/13, Sammi 8/2/13,Maci 4/9/14, Gabbi 3/20/17, Zoe 1/3/18, Willow 6/4/18, Shelby 6/12/18, Bear 11/17/19 and Bella and Murphy who were both tragically poisoned on 06/18/20. I’m so very sorry for your loss Steve. I always thought it interesting that since God made us in His image, he could have designed our emotions any way He wanted. He made us in such a way that we have to go through this awful period of grief. There are no shortcuts and no free passes. No one can else can walk the path for you. As difficult as it is, it’s a gift He gives us. It must have great value. And we’ve all experienced that wonderful day when you realize that for the first time, you thought of your beloved animal first with a smile, and not a tear. What a handsome boy! My prayers go out for you in the loss of your precious Max, and I thank you for sharing those special and loving memories with us. When I sent my beloved Stardust to the Rainbow Bridge in February, I was comforted to read how many vets agree that "Better a week too soon than an hour too late." I would have done anything to prevent her suffering as I saw her begin wasting away.
