I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep. I could see that you were crying, You found it hard to sleep. I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear, "It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here." I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea, You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached down to me. I was with you at the shops today, Your arms were getting sore. I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more. I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care. I want to re-assure you, that I'm not lying there. I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key. I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said " it's me." You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair. My Sidney was on the bridge to welcome Monkey to his new home. They are chasing sunbeams and telling "tails" of their great lives. I have asked them to send you a rainbow from heaven above a upside down smile. When you miss Monkey the most listen to your heart his love is there.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Monkey. Please find comfort in knowing that Monkey is now at Rainbows Bridge and making lots of friends. Saying goodbye is never easy. I also lost my precious cat Spooky July 30th 2001 after 16 wonderful years with her. On January 11, 2013, I lost my faithful friend Hannah who was a beautiful blue tick hound dog. On August 2, 2013 another one of my beautiful cats, Sammi, a black and white tabby, went to Rainbows Bridge. Spooky never met Hannah or Sammi but I am sure that Spooky greeted Hannah and Sammi at the bridge. I am sure that Monkey, Spooky, Hannah, and Sammi have all become good friends. Dear Gladys I'm sorry for the loss of your Monkey. I lost my Finnbar December 2012.I understand how hard it is to say goodbye although I was blessed to have him for so long. When its time you'll be together again just as it should be.Until then Monkey is waiting you at the bridge happy and healthy.There are new places to explore so much space to run like the wind all the good treats and when he needs a break,meadows to lie in the sun.He's having a ball with his new friends all the while still keeping an eye on you.I hope he's met Finn by now.He's a friendly little cat but he's scrappy and he can catch.
