Toni, my deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved Mikki. I can see how much you lobed each other in the beautiful things you wrote. They honor him and your special relationship. It is so very hard when our fur children pass. They are a part of us and the hole they leave behind when they've gone to The Bridge is huge. My sweet dog, Chili, went to The Bridge late April. Dear Toni, Angela and Alfred, he's so beautiful and precious. Your memories and pictures warmed my heart. What a wonderful blessing that Nikki was a part of your lives for many years. I know the same blessing. My kitty, Bubba Lou, was with me for 14 years but left for heaven's most beautiful meadow last year. Though it breaks our hearts to say goodbye to our precious little furbabies, we must always know that they have gone to a happy place where they are young and well again. Sweet Nikki now plays like a puppy in heavenly sunshine. He has been reunited with Ana and Rasputin, and together they roam, chase, woof-woof and purr, cuddle and nap, all knowing that they will see their earthly family again someday. On a glorious day in the future, when we cross the rainbow bridge and our babies come running to greet us, we will be with them forever more, never to be parted again. My Sidney was on the bridge to welcome Nikolai to her new home. They are chasing sunbeams and telling "tails" of their great lives. I have asked them to send you a rainbow from heaven above, a upside down smile. When you miss Nikolai the most, listen to your heart her love and paw print are there.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Nikolai. Please find comfort in knowing that Nikolai is now at Rainbows Bridge and making lots of friends. Saying goodbye is never easy. Toni..a great tribute to a beautiful boy who has given you years of friendship and memories. He knew you would be the one to take care of him the way he needed. But no matter what or for whatever reason they are always taken from us too soon leaving their forever pawprints within us. King Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes: "To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven…a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance…" The Zohar, the classic work of Kabbalah, describes the inner psyche of man as "crying being on one side of the heart and laughing on the other side of the heart." Yet, there is an even deeper understanding, we will learn to be joyous and broken hearted at the same time. Our fur babies where so beautiful and a gift of true joy & love, how can we not be happy when we reflect on their memory and begin to celebrate their life.
