I lost my golden retriever Jan 4, 2017. The love you have for Old Yeller made me cry. Before my dog died I prayed GOD would take him to heaven. Toby died of a spleen tumor. We had no choice but to let him go. There was nothing anyone could do and he was in severe pain. No amount of money could of saved him. Still it is hard, because you feel like the 'bad' guy for having your dog put down. He was very special to me. I too, meant Toby on my birthday. He didn't come for me, but rather I came to him.

Hello beautiful baby. What a story of love your mama has written for you. Joy and Jesse got bless you for rescuing this baby. Old Yeller reminds me of our Buddy , he is here at the bridge a yellow lab too and a product of rescue. I have sadly had to leave 7 here and as I sit and look at their ashes in the cabinet beside me I understand that your pain will never leave. But this I leave you with...every tear you shed, every heart pain you feel when you miss them most is worth it all for the lessons and the love that they leave for us here. God bless you both!

Joy and Jesse; Your story about your girl "old yeller" touched my heart. We lost our Izzy girl last September when she was only 2.5 years old. We picked her and her brother maxwell and although I love Max with all I have, it was izzy that "got" me, she was "my" dog, my soulmate. I know exactly what you feel but we are blessed to have the experience. You and I would make the same choice a thousand times over, even knowing the grief that awaits. Bless you and your husband and family. Your girl never went away. She is part of you forever.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I lost Cooper, my Yellow Lab, awhile back. Please know that you're not going through this alone and you will be with your furbaby again. They are not gone, just waiting for us in a better place. The Good Lord would not give us these treasures for such a short time only to take them away forever. Take care, Kim

What a beautiful tribute to such a darling angel! I read every word. I also looked at every picture. Gracie and Lance are also darling. I hope I got their names right. You are such a blessing to this world to love and care for animals so much. I want to thank you for being such a loving Mom. I really am sorry for your loss but they are in good hands...Gods hands and some day, you will see all your precious babies again. I hope my angels find your angels and they are running and playing together. Please dont suffer alone and dont hold on to guilt, it is not in their hearts to hold grudges. Our animal companions love us for always and that love shines down on us from heaven and back again. You are in my prayers. ((Hugs))

So Sorry to hear about your loss. We can relate to what you might be feeling because we lost our beloved Chocolate 3 months ago. Labs are so loyal and devoted. They make the best pets! We often think of the happiness that she brought us and hope that you will eventually be able to do the same! Whenever we start to feel sad, we will start talking about something funny she used to do or something that she loved! It will break your heart but soon you will begin to feel a little better as time goes by. We will keep your in our prayers!

I'm sorry for the loss of your beloved Old Yeller, what a beautiful soul and such unconditional love. Take comfort in your memories and know one day we will all be together again. I lost my Ginger to lymphoma she was only 6, I miss her everyday. I'm enclosing an Angel to watch over our babies.

Jesse and Joy, I understand just how you are feeling. One special thing that helped us a great deal was to have a shelf with the container of Camilla's ashes in it. Next to our Camilla girls urn I place a small fresh flower arrangement each week. Her picture is next to the flowers and the urn of ashes. It reminds us of our dearest and best friend. It lightens my heart to do this. Please try it. You will find it uplifting and you will feel the closeness of your best friend Old Yeller.

Jesse and Joy, I am so sorry to hear Old Yeller What a little cutie he was. It will take time to get past the sadness but know that Toby is still with you. Pay close attention and he will give you a clue to know that he's with you. It happened to me when I lost my beloved Pearl. The sweetest Great Dane in the world. Know that Old Yeller is happy at Rainbow's Bridge. And when it's your time, he will be there waiting for you. Take care Jesse and Joy . My thoughts are with you.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Old Yeller. Please find comfort in knowing that Old Yeller is now at Rainbows Bridge and making lots of friends. Saying goodbye is never easy. I also lost my precious cat Spooky July 30th 2001 after 16 wonderful years with her. On January 11, 2013, I lost my faithful friend Hannah who was a beautiful blue tick hound dog. On August 2, 2013 another one of my beautiful cats, Sammi, a black and white tabby, went to Rainbows Bridge. April 9, 2014, Maci, my English Bulldog passed over to Rainbows Bridge. Maci and Hannah were best friends. I am sure that Old Yeller and my babies have all become good friends. You can visit with Spooky at: http://www.rainbowsbridge.com/residents/Spook002/resident.HTM Take Care, Susan

Dear Jesse and Joy I'm sorry for the loss of your Old Yeller. What a beautiful tribute for a beautiful girl. I lost my Finnbar December 2012.I understand how hard it is to say goodbye. When its time you'll be together again just as it should be.Until then Old Yeller is waiting for you at the bridge happy and healthy. There are new places to explore so much space to run like the wind all the good treats and when she needs a break, meadows to lie in the sun. She's having a ball with her new friends all the while still keeping an eye on you.I hope she's met Finn by now. He's a friendly little cat but he's scrappy and he can catch. If you would care to visit my Finnbar http://Rainbowsbridge.com/residents/Finnb001/Resident.htm

Jesse and Joy. Your tribute to your best friend was beautiful and emotional. I too had a terrible experience with pet euthanasia years ago... Since then I had done research and if you are ever forced to make that decision again have your vet sedate your beloved pet first. The second time I had to send a beloved furbaby to the Bridge I had her sedated.. she was sound asleep before that injection. Please be gentle on yourself, Old Yeller knew she was loved right up until the end. Here's a poem I always cherish by Jimmy Stewart http://www.mamarocks.com/a_dog_named_beau.htm
