Memories of Allegro
Allegro passed peacefully over the Rainbow Bridge on October 29 -- just 4 days shy of her 14th birthday. As she passed, I reminded her how much she was loved and told her to watch for Andie and Alex as they would be there waiting to greet her. My beautiful, gentle yellow lab with a head and ears that felt like velvet when you petted her, was a constant companion for me, my son and our chocolate lab, Ava. She had her challenges the last couple of years but she was a fighter until the end. During the warm days of spring and summer, her favorite place was her bed with her head on the bolster cooled by her very own fan. When it turned cool/cold, you would find her happily laying in the sun on the patio. She fell in the pool when she was little and her job throughout her life was to warn anyone and everyone that the pool was dangerous. She would run around barking until we got out. Just her way of saying "be safe". When she was younger, she loved pulling the stuffing out of toys and playing ball, but the last few years, she was the most content chewing on a peanut butter filled bone or eating Cheetos while being loved on by my Friday night tv group. I am heartbroken and miss her so much already but I am so grateful to have had her to love for so long. In my heart forever
