Sweet April never hissed, bit or clawed...ever. April was not a player nor a hunter, she was my cozy furbaby. She liked looking out the window for hours at a time.During the winter season her favorite place was in front of the fireplace where she would get as close as possible to the firescreen and sleep all the time the fire was going. When I would come home she would meow a silent meow. Only rarely would she meow an audible meow. Dinner time would arrive and she would plant herself in the middle of the kitchen floor amidst the cooking activity, oblivious to the dangers, hoping to score a little fresh chicken or turkey. She would come sleep next to me when I was reading in bed and when I turned off the light she would go to her rocking chair for the night. Her short legs would not allow her to jump to great heights. She would have to spend 10 or 15 seconds preparing to jump on a chair or the bed and it was a scramble every time. Her purrs filled any room she was in. I miss her so much. |
