I will always remember the day we first laid eyes on you. We had lost our Rusty, and vowed not to get another dog, at least not so soon, but Mickey needed a buddy badly, as he was missing Rusty. Jason and I had searched all over looking for a dachshund of any kind. None of the vets knew of any, the shelters didn't have any so we tried the humane society before reaching out to rescue. When I called, I knew something great was about to happen. They had only ONE dachshund. A black and tan female and her name was JEANIE! She had a litter of 2 puppies that had become adoptable THAT MORNING. The little black and tan female was spoken for, but the little chocolate and tan male was not. We rushed to meet all 3 of them, and completed the paperwork, were approved, and then it was off to be neutered and we could pick him up the next day. Mickey was in love with you instantly, Asa. He taught you a lot about how to live with people, and I'm grateful for that. I will forever miss your bright eyes, your "sitting pretty" at the table when we would eat, your high pitched happy greeting bark each time I would return home, taking long walks and just loving on you. You filled so many empty places in our hearts and gave us much to smile about and left us with a lifetime of memories. I am so grateful you were OURS and that we got to have you in our lives for 14 years and 4 months. You were handsome, funny, and loving. The house feels empty without you and your presence. Moving forward without you will be one of the hardest things we have ever endured. We are praying you've found Mickey and Rusty and you all have been restored and are whole and healthy. Momma misses her handsome boy. Please also visit Mickey "Mick". |
