Memories of Bastet Sekhmet
We adopted Bastet at 4 month old from a local rescue.
She was a petite black cat with green eyes.
She slept with us on the sofa and on my pillow. We took her to see the birds, Santa and for holiday photos and lights. She had a stroller. She love Journey the Minions and Rob Thomas.
We miss her Purr, companionship, and love. She was our baby.
Though it doesn't feel like nearly enough.
Bastet Sekhmet was named after the 2 Egyptian cat Goddesses. She was a petite black cat with green eyes. She had a strong presence and wanted things a certain way. She tolorated affection on her terms. She was a sweet cat, yet was not afraid to let us know if she didn't like something. This was usually affection, and mostly nail cutting. She sat on or next to us on the sofa. She jumped up on the bed every nite and took up the entire pillow. Often I had to use a stuffed animal as a pillow. I'd find her on my hip or leg in the am. She would kiss my face and ear each am. She always knew when I was sad or upset. Sometimes at nite she would meow after we went to bed. She loved the laser toy and crocheted catnip toys. She loved Rob Thomas, Journey and the Minions. We took her every year to see Santa, for portraits and to see holiday lites. She was our baby. We also had a stroller for her. When she had joint problems we bought her stairs. She never climbed the curtains or destroyed the tree. She scared us one weekend when she hid in a dresser drawer. Thunder sent her under the sofa.
Bastet loved her Aunt Ally and boyfriend Killian.
