Beau had been here for 13 years,so I think he was around 17-18 years old.He spent a lot of the last recent years sleeping.He used to be a feisty guy.He loved to run in the yard,bark at the cats and squirrels,and laze in the sun.

2021 was a hard year for Beau.The whole family came down with Covid and was hospitalized,this was how my mom passed.I was in the hospital for close to 3 months.During this time,we were blessed to have friends take care of him.He went to one home in Missouri for a few weeks.When that didnt work out,(he liked to piddle a LOT),he came back to Illinois to stay with another friend and her family for about 3 months.I heard he was a bit cranky and preferred the company of their older dog.When I finished my rehab and came back home,I welcomed Beau with open arms.He was happy to be home,and calmed right down being in his own home.Beau was a tough cookie and made it through that rough patch.He certainly deserved to be spoiled after all that.

Beau loved peanut butter sandwiches.Grandma used to make a special sandwich for the dogs,just pb,no jelly.Beau would sit and wait his turn for his bite so patiently.He had 2 siblings to share with.He would sometimes get a bit excited and nip a finger,no harm intended.

Beau is still very much missed. I still look over to the bed where he slept to see him,and am reminded once again that he has his wings.Sometimes I wonder if I did the right thing in helping him cross over.But I remember his earthly body was sick and tired,and I did do the right thing. I know he and my other fur babies are waiting til my time comes.Until then, I will miss my BeauBeau and remember what a good boy he really was.
