Memories of Belle
My Belle (Isabelle to her other parent, Devin) was the most loyal companion. She never wanted to be away from me, and would always do her best to remain close. She was my shadow.

Belle and I have been through so much together, first meeting in a pet store at 8 weeks old- she was bought without hesitation- and ultimately "became" Devin's dog. As our family began to slip, and as Devin had new responsibilities, Belle came to me. We've lived together in Grayslake and Waukegan, Illinois, only to relocate to a high rise in Chicago. Belle loved her life there, having a wonderful view of the world from the 31st floor, many new dog friends, a gorgeous park for walks, and her favorite spot by DuSable Harbor at Lake Michigan.

Unfortunately, we had to leave paradise, but would now stay in a house in Chicago- until we moved to Middleville, Michigan. Winters there were difficult for Belle, as her body began to long for better days. She was having aches and pains, losing her sight and hearing...although she loved her new home in Michigan, I couldn't bear to see her suffer through another stark Winter- so we began spending our Winters in the warmth and sunshine of Florida. She was again going to live in paradise! Belle seemed to find her old self again, loving the warmth, and seeming to get past her arthritis, taking long walks every day. We returned for a second Winter in Florida, but Belle's time was nearing its end. Unable to walk more than a few steps, life was becoming a burden. Her difficulties told me it was time.

A wonderful angel named Dr. Maggie, paid us a visit on April 9, 2020, and Belle eased into her new forever life, while in my arms, at 3:28 p.m. She was crossing over the Rainbow Bridge, and no longer suffers. Once again, Belle found paradise.

I look forward to being with you, again, My Sweet Belle. Thank for giving to me so unconditionally for so many years. ❤
