Memories of Bongo

Dear Babi,
It has been a year since you crossed the rainbow bridge and took a piece of each one of our hearts with you. You have no idea how much we miss you mi amor. Thank you for giving us 15 years of happiness and love my sweet angel. Know that your light still shines bright and that Mommy thinks about you all the time. Te amo mi cielo santo 🙏🏼❤️

Bongo came to us on Christmas eve 2007. He came home at 6 weeks old, tucked in, and hiding inside of a hoodie because, he was a surprise, the gift the kids wanted, and the one little being that made our family complete. He fit right in, biting everyone with his little sharp teeth and peeing everywhere. We loved him so much that we almost celebrated all his messes. He was so smart too, at just a month after being home with us, he knew his commands: sit, rollover and shake hands. He didn't bother learning more commands because he knew he could get enough treats with just rolling over.

As Bongo started to gain weight and became a little chubster, we used to make him run and go up the stairs just to see his little body and his bootie shaking, it was the funniest, sweetest thing. He was our little happy rascal, our best Christmas gift ever.

He was about to have his 15th birthday, there was some teasing about him being a "Quinceanero", and plans for ordering a cake, but he couldn't wait, he was ready to run up the stairs to heaven shaking his bootie around for the last time. The angels have him now and we hope he is making a mess there too; we also hope he gets lots of kisses, and lots of love.

One thing we know for sure is that he left knowing that we loved him with all of our hearts, that we will miss him and that he will always be our sweet boy.

We thank heavens for the almost 15 years he was with us, and we thank you for visiting his memorial.
