Memories of Capone
Capone truly was a special soul. In his final moments as we cuddled on the floor face to face, with me speaking to him softly as we waited for Dr Lopez. He was so calm, much calmer than me (Although I tried to keep it together for him). Even though he was in a bad state he still looked and exuded an air of being regal. Capone only had one speed, full ahead all the time. Must have been tough for him not to have the use of his legs in those final hours, but you wouldn't know it by the look on his face. He was just lying down, chilled out and occasionally scouting the situation. He was a gentle soul, had to say hi to every human he encountered. Would stop and wait for strangers to get out of their cars just to say hi. Being a large German Shepherd some strangers didn't exactly appreciate the implied friendship lol. I could go on and on recounting endless stories and events. For me it came down to simply one tear. What do I mean?? Well in those final moments when we were both on the floor facing each other and cuddling. I started to cry again. As if to say it will be okay dad and you're going to be fine.... He simply shed one tear from his left eye, all the while looking content and I genuinely think he was more concerned about me. He was a special soul. We're never going to forget him. We loved him so much❤️It gives me great comfort to have his paw print tattoo with ink infused with his actual cremated ashes as part of me forever. Capone and I are truly connected for life❤️
