His big floppy ears was the first thing I noticed when we went to the farm to pick him out. When all the puppies were brought to the grassy area, Charlie was the first and only puppy that came to me, he climbed right into my lap and just sat and closed his eyes like he was home, like already knew we belonged together. He had just been waiting for me. If souls could match between humans and animals that is the connection we made. Charlie taught me so much about patience, and sacrifice and loving something that can frustrate the crap out of you. Taught me joy in life and how to forgive. I learned what it feels like to have a piece of your heart living outside your body. He showed me that strength of will doesn't matter the size or physical strength of the person. I miss you like my own heart beat, and I will forever be grateful for the gift of love that you continue to be. |
