Cookie was part of the Abandoned to Adored program from the St. Augustine Humane Society (SAHS). Although she came to them with many physical issues (completely matted so she couldn't raise her head, eye lashes grown into cornea, and so traumatized they thought she was deaf), the care of the St. Johns Pet Center and Dr. Brown and Dr. Searcy who donated their time as well as Carolyn Smith, Director of the SAHS who fostered her before her adoption, brought Cookie out of her shell and made her a playful sweetheart that really could hear when she wanted to (Cookie Hearing). When we adopted her, she was thrilled with life that included her Peke sisters, Candee and Sacha as well as her human Mom and Dad. We didn't have an age for her and the vets thought she was advanced in age. Unfortunately, that was too true and we had her less than 3 years with the last year being difficult for her. But it was three years that we would not have passed up for any reason. She will be greatly missed by all! :( Mom :( Dad :( Candee :( Sacha |
