Memories of Johnson Boys
Harper Lee Johnson 1996-2011

Harper Lee Johnson died peacefully in his loving Nana's arms 22 November 2011 at the Southeast Community Animal Hospital in Greensboro, NC. Beloved companion of Marion and Harris, devoted brother to Murphy Lee, Harper was, and will be remembered as, a gentle, caring canine always charming friends and strangers with his looks, carriage, demeanor and grace. He exuded love and caring throughout his life and generated a lifetime of enduring memories for his surviving family. As a youngster he enjoyed his visits to Doggy Day Care and always insisted that he be permitted to join Murphy when Murphy was confined to "Time Out" for some rule infraction. He loved: to relax on his deck watching wildlife, from squirrels to deer, ambling around his back yard, walking his own home grounds with Murphy and Granddaddy, taking extended neighborhood rides in his car, taking long walks in Hagan Stone Park, gazing for hours at the Atlantic Ocean and beach from the porch at "Dave's Place", exercising on the beach and splashing in the surf on Oak Island.

Harper was always excited to see those individuals who attended to his needs over the years, but he especially loved visiting his caregivers at Southeast Community Animal Hospital. They were special and although some visits over the years were more painful than others, he always loved to see them. The best evidence of this was two loving kisses he gave Dr. Greeson near the end of his final visit. He surely understood that she was going to relieve his pain. His family humbly thanks all the people who participated in the unforgettable life of Harper.

Memories of Murphy Lee Johnson

Murphy Lee Johnson 1997-2013

Murphy Lee Johnson died peacefully, surrounded by love, in his Nana and Granddaddy's arms 10 December 2013 at the Southeast Community Animal Hospital in Greensboro, NC. Beloved companion of Marion and Harris, devoted brother to Harper Lee who he now joins, Murphy was, and will be remembered as, a caring canine always making sure that he knew where his Nana and Granddaddy were in his house and carefully protecting his home from strangers, animals or human. Almost blind in his final years and almost deaf even before then, he still behaved with his proud walk, carriage and demeanor as he did as a youngster.

He exuded love and caring throughout his life and generated a lifetime of enduring memories for his surviving family. As a youngster he enjoyed his visits to Doggy Day Care and always managed to get confined in "Time Out" at least once a week for some rule infraction. Harper always insisted that he be permitted to join Murphy there for the duration. He loved: watching and often barking at wildlife, from squirrels to deer, ambling around his back yard, walking his own home grounds with Harper and Granddaddy when he would sometimes slip away to go exploring assured that Harper and Granddaddy would search for him, taking extended neighborhood rides in Harper's car, taking long walks in Hagan Stone Park, and barking at whatever or whoever walked across "his" sand from the porch at "Dave's Place" and exercising on the beach while generally avoiding the surf on Oak Island.
Murphy was always excited to see those individuals who attended to his needs over the years, but he especially loved visiting his caregivers at Southeast Community Animal Hospital. They were special and although some visits over the years were more painful than others, he always loved to see them. Murphy was at ease when Dr. Greeson administered to him during his final visit. He had endured his health burdens bravely and with dignity and surely understood that she was going to relieve his pain. His Nana and Granddaddy humbly thank all the people who participated in the unforgettable life of Murphy.
