Memories of Jazmin
We first met Jazmin as a puppy at my husband's nephew's home. She was a big girl then, and had the biggest "smile". Fast forward 3 years, and we met her under not the best circumstances as a full-grown adult, weighing 75lbs. We (my husband and I) decided, based on his brother's request, to take her to the veterinarian due to some medical things going on. I knew she wouldn't be going back to the brother's home because he didn't have the time to take care of her and the nephew wasn't really making much effort to take care of her properly either.
So........we got a 2nd dog that day. Jazmin wasn't properly socialized with people, so she growled and cowered when someone she didn't know approached her.
Fast forward a year and she's okay with people she doesn't know, just shy. I'm not a big dog person, so she and I never formed a tight bond. But she attached herself to my husband and they were best buds. She was friendly with a couple family members, and tolerated most other people.
She's my big girl and I love her. But over the past couple months, she wasn't her smiling self and I knew something was going on. This morning my husband had to make the tough decision to let her go because she wasn't getting any better. I will miss her greatly, but happy she was in my life.
