Not long after we adopted her, I took Kealani to the Sandy River Delta, walking along a high bank next to the River, with Kealani behind me, I heard a splash. Looking down there she was half in and half out of the water, looking up at me with frightful eyes. Reaching down about three feet I pulled her up to safety. After that, she never let me out of her sight and became the most loyal Dog, a special bond between friends. She learned how to swim in that River and enjoyed wading in the swallows. She loved to puddle stomp too, so funny, the things she did. She would sleep between us on her back with her legs up in the air, watch TV waiting for a dog to appear then she would attack the TV, she knew what to look for. What a character. Car rides my goodness she loved them. She will be greatly missed. I hope that having a special Friend like her comes around again, if it does She paved the way for an even better way, they teach us so much about ourselves, but if she was a once in a lifetime, then cherished memories will be enough. |
