Memories of Kimrus
| Kimrus was and still is a very special police officer and trusted friend. He was a member of the Northwood Police Department. He became ill very unexpectedly and due to complications he left us on February 21st. He was an abused K-9 from a police department in the south. He had came to Dave in New Hampshire via the Boston Police Department. They were partners for approximately five months. In those few months, Kimrus located two car thieves and rescured two lost children, who would have died if not for him. Dave and Kimrus were awarded the first ever Life-Saving Award for the Northwood PD. There will be a memorial service for Kimrus on March 6th, which at the time Dave will retire his harness and award. Kimrus had every right to not trust David, especially when he put his uniform on. But there was a bond there that was so very obvious to all around them. It went deeper than any love. There was trust, love, respect, something so undescribable. I ask for your prayers as Dave searches for a new partner. David lost another fur baby, Keasha, in November. Keasha is a Rotweiler, who worshiped her Dad. She and David had been through a lot when he was in the Air Force. Now Keasha and Kimrus are together watching over him and never to leave his side. Time is hard for him now and his wife with this loss. Kimrus leaves a brother, Jack, a shepherd and another brother, Taz, a fluffy gray and white cat. Kimrus will never be forgotten. He opened so many doors for David. He pioneered this K-9 program for Northwood. Kimrus taught us a lot and he gave a lot of himself. We will miss him terribly, but grateful that we had the opportunity, even if only for a short time to know him and love him. Kimrus, you are wonderful and be with Keasha. |
