My Dear Lightning: Hey Big Boy. I Love you and Miss you. I wonder if you have met up with our Thunder girl. She has been gone for 7 years. But we were not there to say goodbye to her. You two had a great time until you and I went out on our own. We found a great house with a pool and fenced yard for you. We got to know our new neighborhood together and met new friends and explored new parks and places. We went to Dunkin Donuts for munchkins and you even placed your own order. They knew it was you. I haven't gone to the Chevron gas station yet to see our buddy there. I will cry when I tell him you are gone. He loved seeing you. It wasn't long until Mark came into our lives. You two fell in love, but it took a while. He became your best friend. He took good care of you when I was not there and it wasn't long until you were his buddy forever. He was with you until the end, petting your head. We cried and wept but knew that you were no longer in pain and you were at peace. You hadn't wagged your tail in a very long time. Even though you were handsome as ever, and your coat was still beautiful, it was not going to be much longer that you could hold out. I realized you were tired and had little energy even to bark. It was not a very good life for you and it was only going to get worse. I had you for 15 years, and they were the very best years of my life. You were there when I needed you most; and I returned the favor to you. I will visit often and write to you and I talk to you every day. I hear you barking back! XOXOXO I love you forever my little boy. My Dobese. |
