I went to the Humane Society that day to get myself a kitten. There really weren't any kittens that I liked. But there she was. She was rubbing herself up against the cage saying "bring me home--bring me home". She had been at the shelter for some time and really needed a home. They figured she was about 3. She was so sweet. She was very affectionate but she hated being picked up. She loved to go outdoors and would get up on the fence and tease me. Just when I thought I had her, she would jump over the fence into the neighbor's yard because she knew I wouldn't come and get her there. She liked to lie on their patio and sunbathe. She only liked one kind of cat food...I tried fancy brands and different flavors but she wouldn't eat anything else. She liked to talk and even though her name was Mandy, she became Meow Meow kitty somewhere along the line. It has been a few years since she died and I still look out on the fence to see if she is there. She was just the sweetest girl. I still miss hearing her purr. |
