Millie was such a sweet girl and loved her family so much. Millie was always a loyal, loving girl. When we found Millie, she was in the midst of about 20 all black cats and she was the only one that nobody really wanted to play with. She was hanging out by herself in the "catio" but loved human attention. That is when we knew she was ours. We brought her home and she immediately got comfortable. At the time, she was the only cat in the house and she loved it. She was the best of friends with both of her canine brothers- Kota and Jimmy. Kota of course was 5 times the size of her and as time went on, he just kept growing. But that never stopped them from being the best of friends. Kota, our golden retriever, would always play with her but knew to be gentle enough to not hurt her and she just let him do it because she knew she was safe with him. As time went on, we had new feline additions to our family. She loved her brothers so much. Millie loved to cuddle with her big brother, Larry, and her little brother, Norman. Unfortunately, after her older brother got sick and was gone from home for a couple of months, she became depressed and never really recovered. She became withdrawn when it came to the other cats but she took comfort in her humans and most definitely in "her spot" on the couch and in the kitchen window. After her passing, her brothers have been sitting in those spots. Her big brother, Kota, frequently looks up at her memorial on the shelf on the wall in which Millie was always knocking down whatever was up there. Towards the end of Millie's life, she loved the outdoors. The day of her passing, her momma was admiring her rolling around in the leaves on the driveway. Millie was only outside a handful of times but each time she was, she would watch her dog and brothers and sister and she would sit there and eat the grass with them. Whenever Millie was happy, she would roll onto her back or on her side to expose her big belly so we could rub it. For months she stopped doing that when she was depressed, but every time she was outside she would roll and would graciously accept belly rubs. We frequently called her fat girl, which is funny because when she was little she was just the daintiest little thing. But if there's one thing about all our fur babies, it's that they know how to eat. So anyone who judges you for maybe over feeding your fur baby- just give them the extra scoop. We are so devastated by the loss of our Millie and the only thing holding us together is knowing that one day, we will be reunited with her at the rainbow bridge. We hope she is eating all the grass, chasing all the squirrels, and rolling around in all of the leaves she possible can. We love you so much our sweet girl. Until we see you again 🖤 |
