One day, you chose to stay at the door of Lisa's roommate until they would let you in. You were full of worms, fleas and fear. You would hide from everybody and even from us. I did not think you liked us and wondered if you would ever become a "normal cat". Little I knew, you would become my best friend. Little I knew, we would get so attached to you. I have memories from you while playing at the backyard. You showed us what unconditional love means. You showed us how to be courageous and not to fear the unavoidable. You fought for so long and we fought along with you. You were always brave. My only regret is that we did not have you long enough. We miss you every day. We sent you to a journey free of pain not because we did not love you but because we loved you too much to force you to stay. I hope one day, when we cross the rainbow bridge, you will help us to cross it together and we will never be separated again. We love you and will always love you. My mom has now gone to heaven after such a long and painful illness. Gabriel has now joined you too. My sister Malena has now joined mom. Like you, Mishka, she had cancer - such a cruel illness that marked both your journeys. Perhaps your path, your pain, was a sacred introduction for us...a gentle preparation for what would yet to come. You understood her suffering in a way only you could. Her cancer was so advanced, so final - but I believe you were there, waiting for her, guiding her through the veil with quiet strength only souls like you carry. Now you are together, free from pain, wrapped in love, light and eternal peace.

I miss you all so much.
