Miss Millie was Telluride's only Collie, and to that honor she has proven to be as perceptive and devoted as TV's famous Lassie. Miss Millie's fortitude, intuition, courage, and companionship have played out in the face of some potentially life-threatening situations, including a run in with a towering bear. Her greatest strengths and pleasures were to protect and to please. She took pride in her ability to intellectualize, as she attempted to outsmart me in so many situations. And, of course, there was her enormous Collie smile and knowing look on that face of hers when I suddenly realized that she was right. To me, she truly was the "Lassie" I grew up watching on the television. Miss Millie is my most special friend.
