Murphy is and was our Best Friend. We found him in a pet store where he was earmarked to be put down because no one had purchased him and he was deemed "too old" to sell!!! God pointed me in the direction of that store to rescue Him in 2009. He has been our constant companion ever since. Fiercely Loyal and Kind and Sweet. Never growled at anyone, only kisses, love and companionship. He was an integral part of our daily activities. When it was time to go anywhere, we would put him in his skybox car travel seat with water bowl attached for ease of refreshment where he could gaze out of the window as we traveled. At home he had his Buddy Rider attached to my bike as we biked around beaches and trails. He was always sporting his Doggles to protect his eyes. When we walked, he had a Pet Stroller equipped with a shade and bug netting to keep him comfortable. He loved his Chuck it ball. He would play endlessly. There was NOTHING too good for him, he had everything! We Loved/Love him that much! He loved going to restaurant, especially near the beach and intracoastal areas. He could wade out into the water to cool off and swim. He also loved paddle boarding and kayaking. He had a special shaded area at the bow of our boat to watch the world go by. He also loved going for overnight play dates with his best friend Ginger. Ginger would let him sleep in bed with her and all her other furbabies. Murphy was certified as a Service Dog to help us out with medical issues which allowed him to travel with us when we traveled by plane. Not only was he a Service Dog, but he was an Agility King and trained as a Good Citizen with credentials! I believe, he was and is the most petted and loved Fur Baby on the planet. Murphy was hand fed all of his life because when we traveled to Colorado, our daughter had a Lab (Mogul) and we could not put Murphy's food in a bowl because Mogul would eat her dinner and Murphy's too! Murphy assumed that was how it should be, so that began the journey of hand feeding which lasted his entire life. This was an act of love and bonding. My husband (Mike) and I would take turns feeding him. Murphy loved the attention and looked forward to dinner time! We would always stop to pet him at home, maybe 2-3 dozen times. He knew he was LOVED! There are many memories to share about Murphy, not enough time in the day to do so. Mike and I Miss Murphy so very very much it is painful to know we will never hold him, get kisses from him and play with him again. Only in our hearts and memories will he live. We Love You Murphy!!! |
